Shortly after the Timmelsjoch-Hochalpenstraße toll station is the winter support point of Heli Tirol rescue association. The base is occupied from December to April and supports daily the Austrian mountain rescue service.

free short parking-area in front of the railway station Ötztal.Rail customers can obtain the P+R Ticket from ÖBB ticket machines at no extra cost with any daily, weekly or monthly ticket. VVT Climate Ticket and Semester Ticket customers receive the P+R Ticket free of charge at the VVT Customer Centre. Holders of ÖBB tickets (Österreichcard, online ticket, ÖBB ID card, etc.) must place a copy of their authorisation card behind the windscreen so that it is clearly visible. Camping is not permitted in any of the car parks in the Ötztal.
