The hiking trail leads from the center car park in Oetz along a paved path to the town Habichen. In Habichen you cross the street at the Hotel Waldhof and continue on a forest path. This path leads into a wide meadow path and further onto a paved side road. Through a wood covered brigde you cross the Ötztaler Ache. Tip: After about 300 meters, there leads a path to the Habicher lake. The small detour takes about 15 minutes.
At the end of Habichen you continue on the paved side road further up to the main road. Next to the main road, a separate path leads up two hairpin corners to a forest junction. Follow the beautiful forest path which leads you to Tumpen.
In Tumpen you can get the bus back to Oetz.
