Horse riding
Happiness is riding on the back of a horse…
Trotting through the natural landscape of Ötztal on horseback: an absolute holiday highlight for passionate riders. Horse lovers who are confident in the saddle will find extensive riding terrain on guided tours. Riding arenas and even a riding hall are available for more specific instruction.
On horseback through Ötztal
The specialized riding farms between Ochsengarten at the valley entrance and Obergurgl in the valley’s uppermost part have the best horses in their stables: sure-footed Shetland ponies, Icelandic horses, Haflingers, warmbloods and probably some mixes, all lovingly cared for and trained for riding lessons.
Experienced riding instructors put beginners on the right horse and show them how to take the reins on the lunge. Those who have already earned their first spurs are allowed to go out into the countryside. Every horse rider’s heart will beat faster trek rides in a group. Special tip: for those who prefer not to have the horsepower directly in their hands, a carriage ride is a good idea. It takes all the family to the most beautiful spots of Ötztal without sore muscles.
