The starting point is the central car park in Oetz. From there you walk along the river "Ötztaler Ache", always slightly uphill, past the Brandach Bridge to a small forest. Here you keep left and hike through the beautiful forest towards Hotel Waldhof. Cross the road there and walk through the first part of Habichen until you reach a junction towards "Ebele". Continue on this path. The steep trail can get very icy, so be careful! After a short while you pass the platform "Unteres Ebele". Here the view stretches out of the valley towards Oetz. The path climbs up steeply to the next viewing platform "oberes Ebele", which offers a great view over the village of Habichen. Follow the path until you come to a wide forest road. This meanders downhill through the forest, past the chapel "Kalvarienberg" to the Acherkogel cable car. Continue down the road towards the main road and cross it. Now the path leads back to the Brandach bridge. From there walk the original way back to the town center.

    Author’s recommendation

When you leave the forest and reacht the river, you can first turn left and walk another 10 minutes to "Weller-bridge".
