For our beginner snowshoe hike we are heading into the snow-covered valley of the Gurgler Ache. We hike through the quiet landscape along the river, accompanied by the crunching snow and glittering ice crystals. Our nature guide has a lot to tell you about this area: How the glaciers created these valleys. Which tricks the animals use to survive the long winter. We come across all kinds of tracks (maybe even the animals themselves) and learn exciting details about the natural history of the Ötztal - a nature experience of a special kind!
