After a short climb from the car park to the upper end of Köfels, follow the signs to Köfler Scharte / Frischmannhütte. First, over meadow slopes upwards, the trail soon turns into the forest and winds up in even serpentines to the Köfler Scharte. Via stone blocks the path leads to the Köfler waal path. For about two kilometers the trail leads along an old irrigation system. After this extremely impressive path with a magnificent view you have to cross a creek and walk over pastures until you reach the Frischmannhut. The Hintere Fundusalm becomes visible at the descending forest path. Both rest stops are recommended, different their location. Now another short climb from the Hintere Fundusalm to the Köfler Scharte awaits, where the round ends. Downhill to Köfels you walk on the known ascent path.
Author’s recommendation
Köfler Jochwaal - This irrigation system was built in the middle of the 15th century to make better use of the fields and meadows.
