Aiming high supported by mountain lifts: You will find exciting lift-assisted hiking tours of all difficulty levels spread all over Ötztal. There are 12 summer mountain lifts available to ensure effortless uphill rides – on presentation of your Summer Card you can use them for free. Please note: the walking times indicated are approximate times and may vary - depending on your fitness level.
List-assisted hikes in the Oetz Region
Two summer mountain lifts in the Oetz region take you to the Hochoetz adventure mountain, from where you can venture further into the high alpine areas. There is also a gondola lift in neighboring Kühtai.
Panorama restaurant [1] (2,020 m) - Bielefelder Hütte [4] (2,150 m) - Acherbergalm [5] (1,888 m) – back to panorama restaurant [1] (2.020 m)
Acherkogel Gondola takes you up to 2,020 m, directly to the Hochoetz panorama restaurant. From there you hike along leisurely trails to Neue Bielefelder Hütte at 2,150 m and enjoy the view of scenic Inntal valley. Continue downhill to Acherbergalm (1,888 m) from where you return to the panorama restaurant along the forest trail.

Please note: Only for experienced hikers, 1,200 m of difference in altitude, not suitable for children
From the Hochoetz panorama restaurant, follow the forest road down to Acherbergalm (1,888 m). It's always worth taking a break as you continue walking through the forest to Oetz (820 m) or alternatively back to Habichen on foot.

Route description: Panorama restaurant [1] (2,020 m) - Rotes Wandl - Kühtailealm [2] (1,988 m) - Balbachalm [3] (1,957 m) – Mohrenköpfl - Bielefelder Hütte [4] (2,150 m) – back to panorama restaurant [1] (2,020 m)
You can reach “Rotes Wandl” (vantage spot) from the Hochoetz panorama restaurant (2,020 m) in just a few minutes and from there the trail leads to Kühtailealm (1,988 m). Walking past ponies, sheep and donkeys you reach Balbachalm (1,957 m). Follow the hiking trail up to Mohrenköpfl and from there continue to Bielefelder Hütte (2,150 m). Now hike back to the Hochoetz panorama restaurant.

You can reach “Rotes Wandl” (vantage spot) from the Hochoetz panorama restaurant (2,020 m) in just a few minutes and from there the trail leads to Kühtailealm (1,988 m). Route description: Panorama restaurant [1] (2,020 m) - Bielefelder Hütte [4] (2,150 m) - Rosskopf - Wetterkreuz - Alte Bielefelder Hütte (decayed) - Acherbergalm [5] (1,888 m) – back to panorama restaurant [2] (2,020 m)
From the Hochoetz panorama restaurant (2,020 m) you hike up to Bielefelder Hütte (2,150 m). From there you first climb Rosskopf peak (2,399 m) and then Wetterkreuz (2,591 m). After thoroughly enjoying the view of the Stubai Alps, you descend to Alte Bielefelder Hütte (decayed) and further on to scenic Acherbergalm (1,888 m). From here, take the forest trail back to the panorama restaurant.

Route description: Panorama restaurant [1] (2,020 m) - Rotes Wandl - Kühtailealm [2] (1,988 m) - Balbachalm [3] (1,957 m) - Ochsengarten (1,507 m) – Ochsengarten Gondola takes you back to panorama restaurant
You reach Kühtailealm (1,988 m) via Hochoetz panorama restaurant (2,020 m) and “Rotes Wandl” vantage spot. Continue hiking to Balbachalm (1,957 m) before walking downhill to Ochsengarten (1,538 m). From there - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays – Ochsengarten Gondola (note seasonal operating times!) takes you back to the panorama restaurant or you return to Oetz by Postbus. Please check the timetable as bus connections are limited outside season times.

Route description: Panorama restaurant [1] (2,020m) – Rotes Wandl – On the trail of wild animals – WIDIVERSUM
From the Hochoetz panorama restaurant (2,020m) you hike straight through the WIDIVERSUM. Past the reservoir lake you continue to “Rotes Wandl” vantage spot. From there you enjoy fabulous views of Lower Ötztal and Inntal valley. The way back leads along the wildlife path towards WIDIVERSUM and the panorama restaurant.

Lift-assisted hikes in the Sölden Region
On Sölden's vibrant side there are five summer mountain lifts at your disposal, some of which take you up to over 3,000 m. The glacier world of Sölden - accessible via the Ötztal Glacier Road - also offers spectacular high-altitude hikes
Lift-assisted hikes in the Gurgl Region
At the very end of the valley in Gurgl at 1,800 m you will find two summer mountain lifts that take you up to Kirchenkar or the panoramic Hohe Mut mountain. From here you can easily access the high alpine hiking trail network
Hohe Mut mountain gondola takes you from Obergurgl up to almost 2,700 meters above sea level to Hohe Mut saddleback. You hike along a relatively flat trail towards Rotmoosferner glacier. The trail then descends from the mountain ridge through Rotmoostal side valley, past grazing Haflinger horses and water striders. Finally, you cross the awe-inspiring stone pine forest that features centuries-old trees. Special tip: thanks to the informative audio guide you can find out more about the high alpine nature of Gurgl.

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of glittering minerals and stones on a guided hike from Obergurgl to Gaisbergtal side valley. At the very end of the valley the trail leads up to Hohe Mut saddleback and further on to Hohe Mut Alm, where you can stop for a bite to eat and then return to the valley on Hohe Mut gondola lift. The route can also be explored without a guide and in the opposite direction.

Kirchenkar Gondola is located directly at the Top Mountain Crosspoint. You will find a viewing platform at the top station, a second one is about 100 meters higher up and can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. We promise a sensational view and countless new hiking trails that will bring you even closer to the splendid flora and fauna of Gurgl as well as towards your inner peace.

Lift-assisted hikes in Vent
12 of Austria’s 20 highest mountains can be found around the mountaineering village of Vent. Therefore a little help for the first few altitude meters is just the right thing to do before you venture further into the high alpine areas. Wildspitze & Wildes Mannle chairlift (2 sections) takes you up.
From Wildes Mannle top station there are the following splendid tour destinations:
