Description

Once a place of loss and mourning, the plague chapel is now an idyllic centre of energy. In 1661, the small branch church of the Holy Trinity - popularly known as the Bichlkirche or Plague Chapel - was built for the victims of the plague. A golden high altar, the magnificent side altar in rococo style and the gleaming white barrel vault give the plague chapel its special atmosphere.
Hike to the plague chapel:

  • Starting point at the Längenfeld information centre
  • Walking time approx. 45 minutes (there and back)
  • Very easy hike
  • approx. 50 m difference in altitude
