Plague Chapel
Once a place of loss and mourning, the Plague Chapel is now an idyllic energy field. In 1661, the small Church of the Holy Trinity - popularly known as “Bichlkirche” or Plague Chapel - was built for the victims of the plague epidemic. A golden high altar, the magnificent rococo-style side altar and the brilliant white barrel vault provide the Plague Chapel with a very special atmosphere.

Lehn’s Waterfall
The mountain water plunges some 80 meters into the depths with unbridled elemental power. A natural spectacle that you can experience with all senses on the well-maintained hiking trail. At the top, halfway up the waterfall, there is a wooden vantage platform equipped with benches offering a unique view of the roaring water masses. Cooling off in the fine water spray included.

Suspension Bridge
The two sunny balconies of Brand and Burgstein are connected by a spectacular suspension bridge some 220 m above the valley floor. Combined with a loop hike, the 83 m long steel structure opens up completely new perspectives of Längenfeld and its wide open basin. Thanks to a special dog track, your four-legged friend can also enjoy the view.

Lake Winkelbergsee
The 5.7 km long geological theme trail is all about Köfel’s rockslide that shaped the landscape of Längenfeld some 10,000 years ago. With the help of 11 information boards or the interactive radio play adventure, you can get to the bottom of this geological mystery. The trail, reminding of a fairytale, ends at jade-green Lake Winkelbergsee, where a footbridge with Kneipp facilities and a small water park ensure that you can cool off.

Trail of Legends
The journey is its own reward – this cliché is true here. The 14 myths and local legends, which are displayed on the way up to Alpengasthof Feuerstein using sculptures up to 5 m high, are so eerily beautiful that the 3 km long hike is a piece of cake even for the kids. Headless horsemen, a giant dragon or the wild manikin cast a spell over everyone – including you!

Adlerblick View
Walking past the small Lourdes grotto with a statue of the Virgin Mary, the trail leads you up to Adlerblick View. Once at the top you will be welcomed by the wood-carved golden eagle with a wingspan of 1.80 m. The surrounding peaks are just a flap of wings away. But you don't need eagle eyes, just small telescopes on the viewing platform to spot scenic Fünffingerspitze, Hahlkogel, Fundusfeiler and Gamskogel.

Local Heritage Museum/Memory Archives
3,2,1 - jump back in time! As soon as you enter one of the ten buildings with original furniture and tools, you feel like you have been transported back in time. The Memory Archives in one of the old farmhouses is probably the most special feature. Everything you want (and need) to know about Ötztal is stored here. In texts, images, audio and film documents.

Teufelskanzel Vista
The name “Stinker”, as Duringweg trail along the Ache river is also called, does not refer to the supposed smell of sulfur - even though a devil with a trident is enthroned high up on the “devil's pulpit”, which is the English translation of Teufelskanzel. On a hike up to the devilish viewing platform (with heavenly views), you will find out what it's all about.

Gries Contemplation Trail
Scenic Maria Hilf pilgrimage church, the starting point of the contemplation trail, sets the mood for this loop hiking route in a spiritual and contemplative way. First it leads slightly uphill following the Stations of the Cross towards the viewing platform. From here you enjoy superb views of the small mountain village, in the background the striking mountains of the Stubai Alps including Schrankogel and Mutterberger Seepitze.

Strelesperre Rock Path at Fischbach Brook
The concentrated elemental power of Fischbach mountain brook is collected behind a 12 m high dam wall, comprising trunks and rubble dashing against the pyramid-shaped walls. From here you can hike up to Brandalm on wooden stairs, then continue over the suspension bridge to Burgstein and from there downhill again to Längenfeld.

Nature Park House
At the Nature Park House in Längenfeld everything revolves around the local fauna and flora. The multimedia and natural history exhibition brings you closer to Ötztal's natural variety on 300 m2, with a special focus on water. Afterwards you will walk through Ötztal with even more open eyes.
