The 6 Nature Park info points

The Nature Park House in Längenfeld is a true information hub and competence center for Ötztal’s nature. Additionally, there are other information points spread across Ötztal, which deal with the valley’s different altitude levels and their respective special features.

The “reception room” of the Ötztal Nature Park is located at the entrance to the valley. Information on 60 spots of natural history and cultural & historical interest can be accessed on the central touchscreen, which are visualized on the natural terrain relief.

The topography of the surrounding landscape is presented on a 6 x 4 m information display. The main focus is on the formation of Tauferberg, which dates back to the huge “Köfels rockslide”. It also centers on the region’s strenuous mountain farming and the resulting biodiversity.

Wild water is the main theme at the info point in Gries, which is illustrated on a 6 x 4 m model of the landscape. The elemental power of Fischbach and Winnebach mountain brooks, which come together here in Gries, is particularly relevant. Site-specific information on the function of the protective forest and the history of the mountain village of Gries complement the main topic.

Sölden’s Adventure Mile focuses, among other highlights, on the habitat of Windachtal. The pristine forests and rugged rock faces provide material for stories that can be scanned using a QR code. There are also great hiking tips for Windachtal.

The 50 m² exhibition in the listed rectory building is dedicated to the huge variety of natural and cultural topics surrounding Vent. Including an impressive photo gallery about the traditional sheep drive between Vent and South Tyrol, facts about the history of settlement, as well as the tradition of field names and the history of the Alpine Club.

This 135 m² interactive Nature Park exhibition on the subject of “Glaciers” is located at 2,670 m in the basement of Hohe Mut Alm. Exclusive exhibits such as a petrified ibex horn, broaden the spectrum and a real “mini glacier” will cool raised tempers.
